Fenty Hits N.C. for Obama

Big day for Barack Obama today in North Carolina and Indiana and who better to call on than his favorite door-to-door campaigner Adrian Fenty? The D.C. mayor traveled to three North Carolina locations -- Raleigh, Cary and Rocky Mount * -- on Sunday and Monday, according to his spokeswoman Carrie Brooks, to rally volunteers and launch canvassing efforts. We didn't find much in the way of news coverage during a quick on-line check, except this blog mention and photo.

Fenty endorsed Obama last summer and has traveled on his behalf to Massachusetts, Texas and New Jersey, among other places. The mayor was back in the District late Monday evening, and he made an appearance at an Obama fundraiser. Tonight he'll be back in his usual routine, attending two community meetings in town.

* Update 4:44 p.m. -- Fenty also made it to Greensboro and Winston-Salem, according to his staff, lest anyone think the mayor was loafing it.
