Lanier Wants to Fire Reinstated Officers
D.C. Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier said this morning she is now trying to get rid of the more than 20 officers she has rehired after they were terminated for misconduct.

IF Chief Lanier terminated these officers for misconduct, and rehired them to allow them a 'second chance", and they had failed THAT opportunity, then by all means, they SHOULD be removed. Just because someone "missed a deadline" does NOT change the fact that they should not be police officers in the first place. And if they ARE police officers, looked to in time of need, then they should uphold the standards that they REQUIRE others to.
