D.C. Quarter Vote Winner: Duke Ellington

Duke Ellington has edged out Frederick Douglass and Benjamin Banneker as the most popular image to be etched on the D.C. quarter, according to today's story in the Post by Mary Beth Sheridan. In all, 6,089 residents voted and Mayor Adrian Fenty sent the results to the U.S. Mint, though the final decision belongs to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. A Washington Post on-line poll had Douglass winning easily last month. What do you think? Did you vote? Do you agree with the results?

Who doesn't?
I think it would have been cool to have something like the Museum of Natural History or Nat's stadium, but eh. Too late for that.
I vote for Ellington!
