Nickles: D.C. Has Too Many Lawsuits

D.C. Attorney General Peter Nickles responded to the lawsuit filed against him for terminating eight lawyers in his office, calling the legal move "ill conceived" and "frivolous." Nickles said that the lawyers he is removing have rights to appeal his decision, but that he has not heard of any such appeals. Nickles added that "any time you do anything in this town, there's a lawsuit against you, so it's not surprising."

Remember Annie Hall, where Woody Allen had an uncle Joey Nickels? Joey 5 cent! That is what an attorney for the city is worth, when he doesn't even live here.

Well if the city stopped doing stupid things, we wouldnt have this problem!

Ironic at best that Nickles, who made his mark in private law practice out of suing the city, should now profess righteous indignation at being the recipient of such actions.

And I can't help but wonder whether he, given that background and his irascible (to put it mildly) demeanor, is really the best person to serve our interests as Attorney General. Mr. Mayor, can't you find someone else and let Mr. Nickles go back to being your personal counsel?
