D.C. Wire Video: Obama-Clinton Unifying Event at Local 16 in Dupont Circle
Hundreds of young local Democrats came together Thursday evening for an evening of drinks and political talk at Local 16 in Dupont Circle. The event. co-sponsored by D.C. Young Lawyers for Obama and 17 other groups, was billed as a unification for supporters of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and the focus was largely on Virginia, which figures to be the only battleground state in the D.C. metropolitan area as Obama, the presumed Democratic candidate, heads into the general election against likely Republican nominee John McCain. (D.C. and Maryland historically swing Democratic). Former Clinton Campaign Chair Terry McAuliffe and Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.), a strong Obama supporter, were the guest speakers. The crowd was diverse and enthusiastic and stayed to mingle long after the speakers were done. Watch for yourself.
