Schwartz Picks up FOP Endorsement
The police union has endorsed council member Carol Schwartz's bid for reelection. She's running against Patrick Mara for the Republican at-large nomination next month. The union's labor committee today issued this statement from union Chairman Kristopher Baumann:
"The endorsement of Carol Schwartz by the FOP is an endorsement from law enforcement professionals who know how important strong legislative action and oversight can be to public safety. Ms. Schwartz understands not only the importance of effective law enforcement, but also the role that education and employment opportunities play in securing long term public safety and community stability. The District desperately needs leaders that have the courage and the vision to seek real, permanent solutions to the problems that threaten this city, Carol Schwartz has proven herself to be one of those leaders."

She may get theirs, but I am withholding my endorsement until a "republican" candidate who really is republican, is running.
