Fenty Stumps for Allies
Mayor Fenty had no events listed on the public schedule released by his office. But he's out and about on the primary election stump today, appearing with Muriel Bowser in Ward 4 at LaSalle-Backus Education Center to cast their votes, presumably for her. Bowser, who won Fenty's endorsement to replace him in a special election last year after he took over as mayor, is up for re-election.
Fenty is scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. at Asbury Dwellings, 1616 Marion St., in Ward 2 with incumbent Jack Evans, according to the Evans' campaign. Though Fenty and Evans were often at odds when Fenty was a council member, Evans has been one of the mayor's top allies on the school takeover and other administration initiatives.
