From the Floor: D.C. Delegate

Jim Kadtke is a delegate from the District of Columbia to the Republican National Convention. He joins D.C. Wire today to blog from Minneapolis-St. Paul.

I am the chairman of the DC delegation to the GOP convention. The Post has asked me to blog about my experiences here, which I will try to do over the coming days.

So far, the people here have been very warm and helpful, everyone is very impressed. There is a great atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

However, with the hurricane in the Gulf, many of the convention activities are being cancelled. They are instead planning volunteer activities to help the people affected by the storm, and all the delegates are very supportive of this.

I will tell you a bit more about myself tomorrow, but for the moment I will just mention that I was a Senate staffer for several years and saw Sen. McCain often.

Jim, or anyone else involved with the DC Republican Party:

Is Schwartz supporting McCain?

Because it doesn't sound like she is. And if that's true, why on earth is ANYONE supporting Schwartz against Mara in the GOP Primary? It sure seems like Mara is the obvious choice to anyone who is a legitimate Republican.
