D.C. for Obama: "One Last Election to Win"
D.C. for Obama, a grassroots organization, helped get-out-the-vote in the District, Virginia, Pennsylvania and other places. Now, organizers Gregory Jackson and Howard Park have sent an email asking members to put in one final push--to help support challenger Jim Martin (D) in his bid to unseat Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R). They are having a special run-off election Dec. 2.
It's one example of how some Obama supporters are keeping their organizations intact, and may be a glimpse of the kind of activism to come during the Obama administration.
As the statement notes, In particular, D.C. for Obama will be "organizing phone bank parties in the days ahead. If you would like to attend one of the gatherings, please fill out our short sign up form. You may also fill out this form if you'd like to host a phone bank party for your friends."

Here's the full email message from D.C. for Obama:
We need 60 votes in the Senate to block a filibuster. With a victory in yet to be decided Minnesota and Georgia, we can achieve this lofty goal. A recount is underway to decide the fate of Al Franken in Minnesota. A special runoff election takes place on December 2 to declare a winner in Georgia. Will you help Jim Martin defeat Saxby Chambliss and take us within reach of making health care affordable for all Americans? Chambliss was elected to the Senate by running a dirty campaign against Senator Max Cleland, a decorated war hero and critic of the Bush Administration. The change we need doesn't involve Chambliss in the Senate.
Sixty votes in the Senate means that the policies that Obama cares deeply about will be much easier to enact. The change that we need is within our grasp. Don't let it slip away. Pledge to help Jim Martin win his election.
Obama supporters are mobilizing around the country to help in Georgia. The Obama campaign has even opened up its field offices and staffed them with Obama for America organizers. President-Elect Obama fully understands the importance of the magic number sixty. Jim Martin is challenging the incumbent in this runoff election and he will need our help to win.
Early voting began in some counties last week. Now is the time to reach out to voters and let them know they can vote immediately. There is no need for them to wait until December 2.
