Looking to Obama White House for Financial Help
The District is planning to seek more funds from the incoming administration of Barack Obama, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty said yesterday. The city is hoping, like many of states around the country, to benefit from the stimulus package the administration will prepare to help ease the financial crisis that has gripped the country. The story in today's Washington Post, examines a report released by the D.C. Appleseed Foundation, which argues that the District can't move forward because of financial structural shortcomings that limit the tax base.
