Kwame Brown Wishes Barry Well
D.C. Council member Kwame R. Brown (D-At Large) joined the outpouring of support for colleague Marion Barry (D-Ward 8), who is scheduled to undergo a kidney transplant this afternoon.
"My family and I would like to wish Councilmember Barry well in surgery and a quick recovery," he said. "We should also commend the courage of the kidney donor who is making a valiant sacrifice."
Brown also is taking the opportunity to promote the National Kidney Foundation, which is sponsoring a free kidney screening from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 215 Rhode Island Ave. NW.
