Barry Absent From Council Meeting
Despite his plans to return to the D.C. Council meeting today, Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) was absent from the dais because of the doctor's orders.
Barry was discharged last week from Howard University Hospital, one week after he under went kidney transplant surgery.
"He really wanted to be here today, but the doctor wants him to get more rest," said Barry's Chief of Staff Bernadette Tolson, who didn't say when Barry would return to the council.
