GOP Senators to Hold News Conference on 'D.C. Issue' Today

UPDATE: Looks as if Ensign is busy on a number of "D.C. issues." Turns out that the news conference was called to discuss the importance of the DC School Voucher program. Watch this space for updates. Apologies if we got your blood racing this morning.
The D.C. vote bill has hit big bumps in the U.S. House, where supporters said last week it would be sailing through. Post reporters David Nakamura and Nikita Stewart break the news today that there aren't enough votes in the majority Democratic Congress to get the bill safely to the House floor. The GOP and the National Rifle Association can take some credit for that.

In fact, Senate Republicans announced last night that they are planning a news conference today about a "D.C. issue." The news conference is set for 11:15 a.m., with Senators Jim DeMint (SC), Jon Kyl (AZ) and John Ensign (NV), author of the gun rider on the voting rights bill that passed in the Senate last week.
