Barry to Discuss Illness at 1 p.m.

Ward 8 D.C. Council member Marion Barry is holding a press conference this afternoon at Howard University hospital to discuss his recent weeklong stay there because of dehydration and a subsequent minor infection.

"I would like to first thank God for giving me the strength to rise above," Barry said in a statement on Monday night. "By his grace and the wonderful work of my doctors and the staff at Howard University Hospital, I am able to address health issues more effectively.'
