Michael Kelly Moving on to Bigger Things
Michael Kelly, who recently announced his resignation from the D.C. Housing Authority after nearly a decade, has landed on his feet in a big way: general manager of the New York City Housing Authority.
"Seldom do you find someone as qualified as Mike Kelly to assume a position as important as General Manager of NYCHA," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a news release.
With a DCHA board increasingly filled with new members appointed by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D), Kelly resigned under pressure as the mayor was ready to put his own stamp on the agency.
This wouldn't be the first time someone Fenty fired has gone on to a position that is as challenging or more challenging. Former schools superintendent Clifford B. Janey, pushed out in favor Michelle A. Rhee in the mayoral takeover of public schools, now runs the show in Newark.
Newark's mayor is Cory Booker. Fenty has teamed with Booker and Bloomberg politically, particularly when it comes to fundraising.

So Bloomberg recognized the talent and now has our experienced and skilled. Fenty just continues to demonstrate ignorance.
