Evans mum about impending marriage

Council member Jack Evans (D-Ward 2) announced last week that he will run for council chairman.

But Evans, the longest continuously serving member of the council, is staying tight-lipped about his engagement to interior designer Michele Seiver.

They have been dating for about three years and have three children each. Evans, 56, is a widower and Seiver, 52, is divorced.

Evans declined to comment, but the couple has been seen around town at events. The Post's Reliable Source spotted them last year at the Corcoran Ball and revealed that the two were quietly dating.

I am surprised Jack Evans isn't engaged to another man.

Wait! A DC councilman marrying a woman? Were all the gays committed to others?
