Gray, Vilsack Serve Up 'Healthy Foods'

D.C. Council member Vincent C. Gray, a Democratic candidate for mayor, joins U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack in serving steamed kale and roasted garlic cauliflower to students at Alice Deal Middle School on Thursday.
Gray and Vilsack joined Council member Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) at the school to celebrate the passage of her Healthy Schools initiative. Gray, who was a cosponsor of the bill, vowed to fight to make sure the initiative is adequately funded, calling it "a quality of life issue."
