Gray picks up another endorsement

Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray, chief challenger to Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's bid for reelection, has picked up another endorsement with an announcement from the political action committee of the Washington, D.C. Association of REALTORS.
"It is an important election for the future of the District and the neighborhood communities we serve daily," Elizabeth Blakeslee of PAC said in a statement. "We believe our REALTOR® -endorsed candidates will work to retain a vibrant real estate market, improve our already great neighborhoods, and move the District forward."
Gray, who will face Fenty in the Sept. 14 Democratic primary, has boasted a large number of endorsements from a variety of groups, from the D.C. Chamber of Commerce to several unions, including the Fraternal Order of Police. Fenty is supported by the Board of Trade and labor group LiUna, which has been actively campaigning for the mayor.
In 2006, then-Council Chairman Linda W. Cropp, Fenty's main opponent, also outnumbered Fenty in terms of endorsements.
The Realtors group rounded out its endorsements in other races:
*Kwame Brown for council chair
*David Catania for at-large council member (Independent)
*Phil Mendelson for at-large council member
*Harry "Tommy" Thomas Jr. for Ward 5 council member *Tommy Wells for Ward 6 council member
