Professor Fenty? Mayor in talks with Oberlin College

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, now on the market for a new job, may be teaching political science at Oberlin College, his alma mater, a spokesman for the Ohio college confirmed Wednesday.

Oberlin President Marvin Krislov and Fenty "exchanged e-mails...and both expressed interest in the possibility of him teaching," spokesman Scott Wargo said in an e-mail. "The idea was passed along to the politics department and they are exploring options. This would have to be approved by the faculty and at this point there is no timetable."

The mayor's office did not confirm inquiries about job prospects at the college.

Fenty lost his Democratic primary re-election bid to Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray last month.
