Tickets to inaugural ball sold out
Mayor-elect Vincent C. Gray's inaugural ball is sold out.
As of 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, the ticket giveaway to the free Sunday night celebration -- featuring go-go godfather Chuck Brown and other local artists - was shut down at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
After slow distribution last week, media publicity and word-of-mouth prompted residents to line up for the tickets Tuesday and Wednesday.
About 10,000 guests are expected at the party, which will follow a long day that begins with a prayer and the swearing-in of Gray and other elected officials.
