Mayor Gray is one of 422,000 without power
Power outages were stretching across the region and into Hillcrest, where Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) lives.
Gray, who is taking some heat for not declaring a snow emergency Wednesday evening, got home after criss-crossing the city and troubleshooting overnight, and discovered that he, too, was affected by the power outages, said Linda Wharton-Boyd, his spokeswoman.
"He said, 'It's my turn. I have to share the burden, too,' " Wharton-Boyd said.
