AFSCME endorses Vincent Orange in council race

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Workers, which played a key role in helping elect Mayor Vincent C. Gray last year, announced today that it is supporting former council member Vincent B. Orange in the April 26 election for an at-large seat on the council.

Biddle picks up SEUI endorsement -- and criticism from opponents

The Service Employees International Union on Wednesday endorsed D.C. Council member Sekou Biddle (D-At large) in the April 26 special election, even as some of Biddle's opponents stepped up their criticism of his attempts to have them thrown off the ballot.

Biddle opens a well-staffed office for council race

Interim DC. Council member Sekou Biddle (D-At large) opened his campaign office Sunday as he gears up for the April 26 citywide election, telling a room of supporters they have to move at "light speed" to fend off more than a half-dozen potential challengers.

D.C. council candidates blast Democratic party leaders

Several potential Democratic candidates in seeking the D.C. Council seat currently filled by interim member Sekou Biddle are rebelling against the local Democratic Party, accusing it of unfairly trying to anoint Biddle as the leading candidate in the April 26 special election.

Vince Gray Gives Biddle a rousing endorsement

District Mayor Vincent C. Gray (D) gave interim D.C. Council member Sekou Biddle an energetic endorsement Thursday night, vowing to put the full weight of his political organization to work to keep his seat from slipping into GOP hands.
