Norton offers trio of D.C. voting rights bills

Facing an uphill battle against a new Republican majority, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) has recommenced her effort to win congressional voting rights for the district, offering a trio of bills taking different approaches toward the same broad goal.

Norton fails in effort to prevent loss of Committee of the Whole vote

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) failed Wednesday in an effort to forestall the new Republican majority's plan to strip her and her fellow delegates of the right to vote on the floor in certain circumstances.

Gray, Norton protest loss of 'Committee of the Whole' House vote

Vincent Gray made his first public trip to Capitol Hill as mayor Tuesday, joining D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) at a pep rally to protest the new House GOP majority's plan to strip the District of the one voting right it has in Congress.

Norton asks Obama to mention D.C. voting rights in State of the Union address

The District may face an uphill fight to secure voting rights in the House this Congress, but D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) is hoping to win a rhetorical victory next month -- a mention of the issue in President Obama's State of the Union address.

Norton will lose ability to vote on floor amendments

What little right to vote Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) has on the House floor will be gone come January, as Republicans have decided to take away the right of delegates and resident commissioners to vote in the Committee of the Whole.
