Gray campaign 'tabled' at Lafayette

Schools are a core issue in the mayoral campaign, but DCPS officials are trying to keep them from becoming venues for primary season politics. On three separate occasions this spring, principals were cautioned about keeping school grounds free of campaign activity.

"The prohibition covers every kind of partisan political activity -- meetings, distribution of campaign literature, posting of campaign signs, campaign presentations by candidates, partisan candidate forums, etc.," school operations director Evan Smith said in a May 18 e-mail, conveying a reminder from general counsel James Sandman.

The memo came three days after an incident at Lafayette Elementary, where Mayor Adrian Fenty's twins just completed fourth grade. According to two sources, who requested anonymity to avoid getting crosswise with Hizzoner, Fenty was "beside himself" when he saw a Vincent Gray campaign table set up on school grounds during spring fair at the Chevy Chase neighborhood school. The Gray people ended up moving to the sidewalk, said the sources, while Fenty supporters worked the crowd, handing out stickers.

The Fenty campaign hasn't responded to a request for comment.

Oh, so Fenty supporters were allowed to work the crowd and Gray's workers had to move to the sidewalk.

Boy, Fenty keep it up. You look like a real bully or peacaholic worker.

The Gestapo Fenty is mad and can’t handle the hits that keep on coming. Now he will cry and whine about violation of campaign rules but Thugificant gov't name Ron Moton has violated the same LAW! While the Washpo made a story about "Slap This Brat....Mr.Fenty" they have yet to follow-up on why thugificant's site is breaking the SAME F'n law!

Went to his political site (wont list his site b/c he doesn't deserve the hits)and it does not include any information about who paid for it. Isn't this a possible violation of city campaign finance rules requiring disclosure of electioneering activities?

Isn't this same reason you guys ran the "slap the brat" story.

Now...now let's be fair to everyone!

As a District of Columbia citizen I want to know who has contributed to the funding of this site.

I wish Adrian Fenty would disappear and never be seen in public again.

You Gray supporters are jokes. You protest too much and it is going to come back to haunt you. Stop crying wolf all the time. Fenty is not at fault when Gray breaks the law.

You can't set up political tables on school grounds. It is illegal. Period. You have to file for permits to erect private fences on public property. That is the law...period.

So, yes, Fenty can hand out stickers. As can Gray's people. But neither can set up tables.

But, since the law isn't on your side...you will find a way to insult the mayor and make it seem as if Fenty personally wrote the law to help himself.

thelildiva4u,

Here is the Gray website that you mentioned.

I love the name "THE GRAY FILES"

http://vincegray.info

Oh, and I am paying for it. I also bribed kids to vote against Gray in the Ward 8 poll. And, i convencecs Vince Gray not to file for fence permits and setup illegal campaign tables on school property.
If that makes you feel better.

So, now my question...Is the information in the website correct?

Please feel free to debate this with me. Notice, i didn't ask you to talk about Fenty's mother or claim that he is a wife beater. Gray's record is HIS record. It has nothing to do with our opinion of Fenty. So bashing Fenty and Moten won't answer the question.

Perhaps the post can write an article about the site and invite readers to judge for themselves.

I recall there being a website called "dumpskinner.com" in 2006. They were right to ask Fenty to dump him.

Maybe this website is write about the GRAY FILES!

politicalrealist

I read both of your posts and really cannot tell if you are joking or serious about this issue.

Your first posts made a lot of sense but your second had me a little confused. I noticed the intentional grammatical errors and wondered what's up with this post.

So politicalrealist it's ok for Fenty’s folks to break the law but not Gray. If that joke of a site is what you hold as reliable information then that shows me that you are willing to eat any manure that they throw at you.

My point is that Fenty’s cronies should be held accountable too! Fair is fair. But, silly me. We all know that the Fenty administration doesn’t like to be held accountable. The rules always apply to everyone else expect for them.

You Fenty supporters are the biggest joke you whine and cry about Marion's corruption under his tenure and how he ran the city into the "ground", but yet validate the laws Fenty has broken, validate the corruption under his administration, validate the thugs that associate (i.e. Skinner) with this administration, validate the Gestapo tactics that are used on gov't workers and District citizens, validate the lack of transparency and accountability and validate the enormous debt he continues to spend the city into.

Why? I really want to know why?

***Crickets****

Oh please stop with the fence argument that hardly holds a candle to the $83 million that stole from the D.C. Citizens.

Most bullies like, Fenty, never want to get their *ss kicked, they usually cry like brats. If I were a parent of child at that school I would want to know why Fenty lets his dumb-chancellor M. Rhee run the city's school system down the drain. Fenty needs to be fired in November, 2010.
He never wants to talk about the no-bid contracts that he hid from the city council, and rewarded the contracts to his frat buddies.

I hope that principal has her resume up to date. She'll be looking for a new job after that incident if Fenty has anything to say about it.
