What You Need to Know, in Fewer than 200 Words, Friday Morning
Portis: "Don't chance it," all but out, "The Injured Man." Ladell Betts: "Well prepared." Craig Biggio: Massive Skins fan (scroll down). This headline: Awful. Jon Jansen backs away from his NFofL HGH estimate, while Congress gets involved. The Skins remember 9/11, the Vikings don't have a kick returner but do have the West Coast offense, Smoot and Mewelde Moore are still questionable but Smoot says "I'm playing" and Moore says he's not fragile. Madden simulator picks the Skins, 19-7, while USA Today has the Skins in third place (7-9) and Vikings fans predict their defense will "wipe the floor" with Brunell et al.
Maryland safety Marcus Wimbush will likely play tomorrow despite legal concerns, MTSU coach (formerly of the ACC) says he believes the Blue Raiders can win. Hokies change playbook because of ex-assistant now with UNC; Eddie Royal and Brandon Frye will probably play but not start. 2007 BCS champion West Virginia releases hoops schedule. Ex-Nat Jamey Carroll kills 'em in Denver and Alex Escobar has shoulder surgery. Bog friend Rick Maese coos softly over the Ripken ownership possibility. Advance scout Bill Berry joins the Wiz coaching staff. And Kobe vs. Freddy: "It's On."

How big of a 'Skins fan could Biggio be? The 'Skins were up 35-10 at halftime in XXII, not trailing, like he mentioned. The only adjustment Gibbs needed to make at halftime was to put on some warm undies for his impending Gatorade bath.
