Breaking D.C. United News

Breaking D.C. United news, courtesy of beat writer Steven Goff. He reports:

United backup goalkeeper Nick Rimando sprained his ankle while running with his dog Tuesday night. X-rays were negative, but there's a pretty good chance he'll miss the rest of the season, even if United makes it to MLS Cup on Nov. 12. The backup goalkeeper this weekend will be rookie Ryan McIntosh, whose only playing experience thus far has come in reserve matches.

Goff will have more on this story in tomorrow's paper.

I've seen Nick and Jacqui Rimando's dogs. Those two could put saddles on them and ride them instead of walking them. And maybe that would have been a better idea......

MacIntosh has plenty of playing experience on the mini golf course, and I should mention that he plays by the rules, unlike some other DCU players.

And evidently he's busted his hand up saving the dog from being locked in a car as well.

0 for 2 Nick, one more strike for these mutts!

Yikes, that's awful. And yeah, they've got some giant sized pooches so I could see how one might get injured walking them.

Dang Nicky. That's a hell of a way to get knocked out for the rest of the season.

Hey, here's another update from Goff. Rimando was actually running with the dog, not walking, and it was his pit bull named Boomer. More in the paper tomorrow.

Dude just needs to open the door and let the dog poop on other people's lawns (isn't that how it works in the suburbs?) ;-p

Rule #1 - Don't buy a dog that's taller than you.

Rule #2 - Don't buy dogs. At least Coach Hudson thought it was funny when you had to break into your car to save one. I doubt Coach Nowak feels the same.

Rule #3 - Pack warm. Toronto is cold.

I'm sorry. I KNEW I shouldn't have decided to go.
Look at the bad karma already!

About the only thing I know about Ryan McIntosh is he got conked in the dome by a shot in practice. He's been the only McIntosh that's done anything of note sports wise this year. Where have you gone Redskins draft pick Rocky McIntosh?
