What You Need to Know, in Fewer Than 233 Words, Friday Morning

Forget Dolemite Jenkins; it's Lavar Week, cont. He says he spent the last two years getting over the Redskins. He says Shawn Springs's comments were "stupid." He says he broke the rules by giving the Giants a copy of the Skins playbook. Dale Lindsey says, if so, it's a copy that had never been opened. (LaVar also says some people think Joe Gibbs is a part of the trinity. Yow.) Not to be outdone, Brian Billick says NFL players are no more likely to have "issues" than Congressmen. Not to be outdone, Jason Whitlock says the Skins will be the best team in the NFL once Springs gets healthy.

Much praise for GMEG, as Abe Pollin talks championships, Eddie Jordan settles on a rotation and Songaila

continues to sit.

The Nats look at Terry Pendleton and Dusty Baker expresses interest, a minor-league baseball host is investigated for housing foreign players and Linda Cropp asks for movement on stadium parking. Nats part-owner James Brown enters local car shows on weekends, Jagr helps doom the Caps, Freddy Adu is named to the U.S. under-20 roster, Virginia Union has played nine overtimes in two weeks, Jeff Green is the fourth-ranked PF in the country, the AP releases its top 25 ballots, Air Force pranksters paint a wrecked Cessna Navy colors (those crazy kids!) and a Va. Tech RB named "Cheeseman" is done for the season.

Yesterday you wrote "And here's what happened at United practice, besides something cool, which I'll write about later:"

....what's the something cool. Freddy going to Haiti? Donald Brashear let you borrow his car while he was in NY? The nutcase was back at the DC United practice field?

Sports Bog,

What's up with Jason Whitlock? I have read him faithfully on Page 2 at for a while and now he's at AOL Sports? WTF? Do you know the scoop and since when does AOL have real columnists?

Gammons said this am that Girardi is more likely to come to the Nats than Pinella. Just a report. I cant say enough how great it is to see, or hear him in the studio.

Whitlock left the sinking ship that is ESPN2. They have been dumping writers right and left. During his departure he fired a salvo of shots against Lupica and Scoop Jackson. A move that got him banned from any ESPN programs. No more PTI fill-in gigs for him.

Screw Lupica, I've always loathed him; but I can't understand why Whitlock was taking potshots at Scoop, do they have some sort of history that I'm unaware of?

Don't hang out at Rumors anymore. I'm in the process of putting Mike Canselor in jail. Watch it boy. You will be next.
