Anyhow, we're back to teeth gnashing: Boz says the Skins "barely showed a pulse," Chris Cooley says their backs are against the wall (at 2-3?), ARE says they "didn't have any fire," Virginian-Pilot blog gives the offense an F, WashTimes blog says they're "in serious trouble defensively," and msgboard thread titles include

the words "Doh," "Out-coached," "Jekyll and Hyde," "inconsistant [sic]" and "heads should roll." Thankfully, Brunell ("it's a long season") Wilbon (it was one loss) get it right. Chill out.

LaVar is happy but doesn't gloat, Coach Three-G's leaves without talking to the media and Brunell the Messiah doesn't do all that much, while the Giants triumph by simplifying their offense and focusing on Tiki. Also, a columnist says the Skins resemble the Yankees, wondering "over and over why teams built from a more systematic perspective eat you for lunch whenever it counts," and John Clayton says the 700-page Skins featured the most basic offense the Giants have seen this year.

Long profile focuses on the Lerners' hardball style of business, Tony Pena expresses interest in the Nats job, the 3-2 Terps believe they're better than their 5-6 predecessors, UVA's troubles may come down to a young QB (although other freshmen QBs are excelling), Chris Bosh will play sparingly in tonight's scrimmage at the VC and an alleged thief is nabbed because of his Orioles hat.
