Really? Another Steve Czaban Entry?
Since Unsilent is so happy about seeing Chick Hernandez, or at least someone claiming to be Chick, over at NFL FanHouse, I figured I should post something I should have posted last week.
See, Jack was worried that Czabe might have been offed last night, like so:
Perhaps Czar Danny, tired of Czab's constant criticisms and barbs (calling him a lumberjack crossed a line), sent out his top henchman Vinny Cerrato take him out. My inside sources (imaginary friends) suggest that Cerrato could have employed the use of a radioactive spray on Czaban's morning danish.
Bog friend Dave McKenna, on the other hand, did some actual reporting about Czabe's one-week vacation a while back. I didn't realize this, but Team Skin snatched its players away from Comcast after that incident from a few weeks back. Reports McKenna:
Chris Helein, vice president of public relations for the Redskins, says that he indeed complained to Comcast about the Czaban's Brunell interview. Helein also says that he decided to suspend the studio interviews from the network's postgame show as a result of the conversation.
"I communicated to Comcast that I thought the questions were unfair, as I would do in any situation like that," says Helein, who was a VP of communications for Comcast before taking the Redskins job in June. "That's my job. I won't knowingly put my players in a position that I think is unfair. I took a couple weeks to sort of evaluate the situation."
If I still thought people cared about this season, I would muster up plenty of outrage, but I'm all outraged out. On the other hand, in the locker room yesterday I heard Ade Jimoh calling Brunell "Beezer," as Brunell pretended to be offended.
"I'm not that old," Brunell said. "That hurts my feeling."
But he was smiling, so I won't lose my access by writing this, I don't think. And I think Beezer would be an excellent nickname for Brunell. I'm sure Comcast and Czaban and Chick and Unsilent would all agree.
