Gil's Green Shoes, Explained
Since we had some confusion about exactly which shoes Gilbert wore for a half against the Knicks and then gave to Jared Jeffries, I gave a call to Adidas to find out.
So here's the story: he was wearing the "GilZero Low Lucky with a symbolic roulette wheel motif," a shoe that is part of the adidas Vegas Urban Pack. The other limited edition shoes in this series include "The T-MAC 6 Millionaire designed by LA cult designer, Rolland Berry; The C-Billups Money with a patriotic red, white and blue dollar bill print; and the opulent T-MAC 6 Golden Foil." All four shoes retail for $200, are limited to 1,500 pairs and are theoretically only available at "urban independent retailers" in Vegas.

In roulette, the zero is responsible for giving the house its advantage. Stupid zero. (Courtesy adidas)
Overall, there are 21 shoes in the adidas Vegas collection. Other Gilbert-focused offerings include the All-Star On-Court GilZero (design coordinated with all-star game day apparel, $100, widely available) and the Vegas Off-Court, which comes with "bold, Vegas-inspired details and symbols" and black leather uppers "fused with metallic silver and gold hardware details" ($200, 1,500 pairs, retailing at urban specialty stores in Vegas).

JVDC,
It's one of those places where you can get fish/pizza/tacos/shrip/chicken carry out, and everything costs $5.99. Think Yums. Think Benning Road. Think loose bowels.

I will totally buy those ... when they get down to $50 like they should be.

"What's an urban specialty store."
If you have to ask then you don't belong in one.

Magic (kind of like a giant fashion convention) is in Vegas the week leading up to the All Star game and a friend of mine will be doing his thing out there. I've made it his mission to track down the shoes...it will be done.
