Kornheiser to WTWP

Well, the Examiner item I linked to this morning was incorrect. Tony Kornheiser's return to radio will take place on WTWP, and not on WTEM. The official announcement will come within the hour.

Many apologies for sending you in the wrong direction.

Updated: Story here. Show will be 8:30-10:30 AM, and rebroadcast from 10:30-12:30 except on Fridays.

Well, at least I know the correct station to continue not listening to. I didn't mean that to be snide. I just couldn't think of a way to say that I really don't see either station being a great place to land at this point.

You know, I think I read somewhere that blogs are not credible sources of information.

So will Tony return to Monday Night Football next season? Or does he miss going to bed by 9pm on Monday night too much?

Andy Polley and Czaban are so screwed when Tony's show starts. Most of their listeners are hold overs from Tony's show and most surely switch over to WaPo.

Well, at least he didn't go to Snyder. (Thank God!)

Pollin and Czaban are screwed now. Nobody listens to their dreck. The numbers back me up.

Amen Vincent. If Tony had sold out to the dark/Danny side, I'd have lost all respect for his orangeness. I only forgive Riggo because he's probably suffering from dementia after all those hits to the head.

Only a handful of the listeners to Pollin and Czaban are holdovers from Tony's show. If you listen to mouthbreathers who call in, it's obvious.

Only a handful of the people who listen to Pollin and Czaban are big fans of Tony. If you listen to the mouthbreathers who call in, it should be obvious. Tony would have none of that.

DSteinz - you neglected to answer whether said radio deal will allow you to maintain the hold over the coveted page 2 of sports. Hopefully Mr. Tony won't pull rank so those who are not skilled with the internets can be exposed to the brilliance of the bog.

Bill F. and others, if any of you abandon me in favor of four hours of Tony, I will....dunno what I'll do, actually. Be sad, I guess.

As long as Andy Pollin stays far, far away from this show, this is great news. Pollin has no business being on a major market sports radio show. He truly has no talent and no clue - witness his daily readings of sports columns to listeners who could easily read them on the Net, complete with audio of the rat-a-tat of newsroom typewriters in the background. It is the very definition of amateur hour. As for Czabe, he's just a run of the mill sports radio jerk.

DCRTV is not always right, but it does seem logical that TK's old mentor/buddy Bradlee twisted the arm of His Orangeness to buck up the WaPo's radio venture.

Dan,

I think you would be a great choice to be TK's sidekick.

Andy won't leave 980 and I think Braun is still at XXX.

Forget about Andy........is TK going to bring Gary "Big Time" Braun into the fold? The guy is knock-down fareeeekin' funny, no debate necessary!
