New D.C. United Ownership Comes to D.C.

So we're all at the Willard, waiting for D.C. United to introduce its new ownership group. Maybe you've heard. We're estimating the crowd at about 5,000. Ok, 200. Still, it's a lot. Tom Sherwood is here. Marc Fisher is here. Joseph "the Omnipresent Beret" White is here. Bog friend Dave "Wings for Wheels" Lifton is here. Ben Olsen and Jamil Walker and Clyde Simms and Jeff Carroll and Devon McTavish are here, in their official team suits. Commish Don Garber is here. The mayor is here. Eleanor Holmes Norton is here. Will Chang, who is also part of the new ownership group, is here. Victor B. MacFarlane, the group's leader, is here. Brian Davis is here with kids and wife. Christian Laettner is here, closely shorn, sitting in the front row. Vincent Gray and Kwame Brown and Jack Evans are here. No, not that Kwame Brown. Marion Barry is here. Natwar Gandhi is here. A lot of city officials I've never heard of are here.

Official DCU Beat Writer Steve Goff says this is more press than at every D.C. United road game in the franchise's 11-year history. The venue is called the Crystal Room. They're about to get started.

Any chance someone can ask to what extent the ownership group plans to be involved with player/ on field decisions?
