What You Need to Know

The Wizards are trying to get Eddie Jordan to the all-star game, but tonight something more important is at stake. When Antawn Jamison makes shots it can take the Wiz "to another level," Tayshaun Prince says the Pistons might switch up their defense, here's more on Caron's career year, get your Jason Maxiell t-shirts from Detroit Bad Boys, and Need4Sheed

claims Caron looks like Eddie Munster?

Virginia's three best teams are stocked with guards and thinking of tourney berths. Local No. 1 Va. Tech's performance has Seth Greenberg leading for ACC Coach of the Year. Local No. 3 VCU (which got a favorable Bracket Buster draw....see the other matchups here) does not "give in to athletic sin" in a win over William & Mary, whose coach is extremely impressed. Fran Fraschilla loves Local No. 4 GW. David Teel has Local No. 5 UVA beating Duke this week in a home game Jerry Ratcliffe calls the Cavs' biggest since 2000, while Adrian Joseph has found his niche. As Local No. 6 Maryland prepares for a crucial game at Florida State, D.J. Strawberry has been struggling on the road (where the Terps are 6-17 over the past two-plus years), Boom Osby says tonight is a must-win and a writer claims Will Bowers is notching "quality minutes." Local No. 7 Old Dominion feels "warm and fuzzy" after a bloodless romp over Georgia State. Local No. 8 George Mason loses to UNCW, in a game that had something to do with "530 pounds of sweaty flesh." Local No. 9 Loyola tightens its hold on first place in the MAAC. Local No. 10 Gary Neal becomes the third player to reach 1,000 points at two Division I schools in a win over Siberian JMU. Among the unranked masses, Hampton gets a nice win, Norfolk State wins, Howard loses to Morgan State,

Also, the Terps women went from No. 1 in the country to No. 4 in the ACC but the losses might help, and the football team hires a DB coach.

Ricky Schramm metro's to his first DCU practice, where and everyone gets acquainted, with DCU's new assistant feeling like a rookie.

Work will soon accelerate on the Nats stadium (the House that Zim Built?), with the light towers going up as soon as next week, and Thom Loverro profiles several construction workers. Plus Zim the RZA thinks the Nats can win without Soriano, and several Nats are going to the Super Bowl.

The inconsistent Caps need to do something on this road trip and might have found a new checking line, while Official Beat Writer Tarik El-Bashir says Richard Zednik could be on the way out and the playoffs are doubtful. And you'll be able to get some weird preview thing here.

Finally blah blah Redskins salary cap.
