Super Celebrity Bracket Madness
Apologies for the slow day, but I've been on the phone attempting to line up some super celebrity NCAA tournament bracket participants, for a joint, non-monetary, super celebrity NCAA tournament pool I'm helping coordinate with my new friends at Comcast (SportsNet). The super celebrities who are likely to submit bragging-rights-only NCAA tournament picks include Bobby Boswell, Alex Ovechkin, Congressman Heath Shuler, Brendan Haywood, Nikki Teasley, SI correspondent Jenn Sterger, Mike Wise and every single Comcast (SportsNet) personality, plus a lot more maybes or probablys. The results will, with any luck, appear on both Washingtonpost.com and the CSNMA site. And, likely, they will be obsessively discussed in this space.
If you have any super celebrity friends you'd like to nominate, have at it.

Are bloggers considered celebrities yet?

Wouldn't this be a good case to continue blogging about Esky?
How about Devon McTavish? Boswell's mom? Robin Rexcoat from GUTS? Rimando's dog? The Georgetown Parrot guy?

I'm pretty sure I really don't care what Jenn Sterger thinks about the NCAA tournament or anything else. Although judging from her Playboy photo she might have recommendations on brands of tennis balls.

You should have a breakout bracket with a battle of the owners. Get Abe, Ted, Lerner, Christian Laettner and that short guy that owns our football team.

I/You know that Ted Leonsis reads this. Invite him on down!
If you're heading to the White House, ask Shaq and GW as well.

Sterger? Makes sense to me, since she apparently totes around two leather basketballs at all times.
Just wait 'til Orson gets wind of this.

How about some broadcasters, particularly
Charlie "Bang Zoom" Slowes and Frank "Driving Left to Right Across Your Radio Dial" Herzog?

Ooh, broadcasters, good idea! I nominate Phil Chenier, and I guess Steve Buckhantz too.

Can you un-nominate people. Jenn Sterger...really? First SI, now Comcast (SN) and WaPo. Sigh.

Please include Rod Grizzard.

Condi Rice. She just did an interview with ESPN.com where she talks about her greatest sports-viewing moment being a March Madness game between Stanford and some other school...

If Secretary Rice gets to be in the bracket, I nominate Zbigniew Brzezinski (formerly in the Carter Administration, and still resident in the area). He should get the nod because of the name alone.

If you're getting Haywood, please get Etan Thomas too...maybe you can spark a fight over brackets! (Barring that, how about Theismann?)

More Etan/Brenda drama? I might have to dust off my dactylic hexameters for that. The next encounter will likely be epic.

C'mon a local celebrity list without Sonny and Sam? How about Mr. Fifty and Kid Bro Sweets...
Posted by: BlueberryRuffin | February 27, 2007 6:32 PM | Report abuse
SonnyandSam should count as a single entry.
