Celeb Pool End Game

Dan Steinberg here. I'll be honest, we invited too many schlubby journalists and assorted non-famous people into the celeb pool. The goal was to have a Final Four showdown between eight major A-list Washington celebrities, who would then come on Washington Post Live (5-6:30, M-F, Comcast SportsyNet) to debate their picks and allow us to bask in their fame. Instead, we're looking at a Final Four showdown between the mayor of Fairfax and CSN personality Michael Jenkins. That was my fault. And I'm not saying I don't love the mayor of Fairfax and/or CSN personality Michael Jenkins, but if UNC had won last night we'd be looking at Nick Rimando and Antawn Jamison at the top of the leader board.

Anyhow, this was my night last night: watch Georgetown win, get on Hoya message board, get on GW message board, get on Maryland message board, wait for photos of Georgetown fans dressed as the Easter Bunny and of M Street mayhem to pour into the inbox (zero, on both accounts, majorly disappointing), get on Hoya message board, get on Hoya message board, watch GW women lose, and finally, get on celeb pool standings to figure out all the possible permutations. There's no prize for first place, which perhaps lessens the thrill of victory, but here's what I came up with.

UCLA beats Georgetown: winner, CSN personality Michael Jenkins

Ohio State beats Florida: winner, WaPo executive editor Len Downie (whose participation in this pool made the New York Observer)

Now, because my writing career has been shelved in favor of embarrassing television performances, I have to leave to go to Bethesda, where the guests for today's episode of Washington Post Live include Adam Kilgore, Camille Powell, Dave Sheinin, Jim Larranaga, George McPhee and Heath Shuler. Makeup lady Kim, who told me last week that "people don't like to look at unattractive things," is gone, which means I'll have to dump some powders on potions on my head myself and will be looking pretty awesome, starting at 5 pm.

And tomorrow I'll write about polo, high-end Tequila, Journey and Native American dances. I swear.
