Practice day in St. Louis
Arrived in St. Louis late last night. This is a logistical dream for the reporter because the hotel is located across the street from the dome. No Jerry Palm sighting yet. I had a great sleep until I awoke in the middle of the night when I realized ATM Kilgore has no adult supervision in San Antonio. So feel free to dial up the Riverwalk Marriott, ask for Kilgore and make sure he's okay.
The one thing about having no so-called Cinderella in the field anymore is that just about every game should be competitive. It's hard to figure Butler-Florida will be a tight game with 5 minutes remaining largely because of the Gators advantage in the front court, but everything else seems truly up for grabs, for the most part.
We should have people from various sites posting throughout the day.
I'll be joining Kilgore at 2 p.m. for an online chat provided Butler is not practicing or talking at that time.
Then the games start a little after 7.
On the injury front, Chris Douglas-Roberts of Memphis says it will be a game-time decision tonight. But expect Douglas-Roberts, who has a sprained left ankle, to be on the floor. Southern Illinois forward Matt Shaw is also nursing a sprained ankle and will likely try to play tonight against Kansas. Shaw is the Salukis second-leading rebounder and third-leading scorer.
