Seeds of Change
So here's a question, variations of which were popular on today's college basketball chat with Eric Prisbell and Camille Powell: Now that our three ACC schools and Georgetown all appear to be virtual locks for the NCAA tournament, where will they be seeded? It's hard to fathom that Maryland, which was left for dead less than three weeks ago, appears to be in the discussion for a No. 4 seed, or even a 3 if it does well in the ACC tournament.
How about the Hoyas? You have to figure a champion of the Big East regular season and tournament -- whoever that would be -- could do no worse than a 2. And with the way North Carolina and Florida seem to be screwing around -- and with Wisconsin having the injury -- there could be some 1 seeds open.
It might be time for the Atlantic 11 poster to start seeding the field.
