The Wizards Chime In
Dan Steinberg here.
Huge rush of late entries into the celeb pool, including Rep. Heath Shuler, Rep. Robert Wexler, the mayor of Fairfax, the executive editor of The Post, Skipper from "Sex and the City," Ryan Zimmerman, Brian Schneider, Morgan Wootten and The Big Lead. Man this is a weird pool.
Anyhow, there are too many to keep up with, so lemme just give some of the highlights from the latest batch of Wiz entries. I promise that these were faxed before the deadline, although it took me some time to enter them all.
Antawn Jamison: Has UNC winning it all. Big surprise. These are the seeds he has in the Sweet 16: 1234, 1234, 1234, 1246. Bold. Has UNC beating Florida in the final.
Jarvis Hayes: No personal allegiance, so he picks three one seeds plus Georgetown. Bold. Here are the seeds he has in the Sweet 16: 1234, 1234, 1234, 1234. Bold again. Has Florida beating Ohio State in the final.
Darius Songaila: Now it gets interesting. Has Oral Roberts beating Wash State. Has Notre Dame and Vandy into the Sweet 16, just like yours truly. And, take note, has Texas winning it all, over Kansas, in a rematch of the Big 12 final. Hey, why not? At least if you're right, you look like a genius.
Roger Mason Jr.: Sadly I'm having some issues with this one, so I can't link, but it's a brilliant entry. For one thing, he has the same Final Four as me, Dan Shanoff, Pete Thamel, and Andy Katz: Florida, UCLA, Texas A&M and Georgetown. Like me and half the world, he has Florida beating Georgetown in the final. But it goes way beyond that. He has Wright State and Oral Roberts winning in the first round. He has Winthrop into the Sweet 16. He has VCU into the Sweet 16. He has Nevada into the Sweet 16. He has Virginia to the Elite Eight.
Thank you, Roger Mason, for showing a spine that your teammates lack. I hope you win. Well, you, or Jacqui Rimando. Or the mayor of Fairfax. Or the Geico caveman.
