Cal Backs Out of Imus Appearance

Since Thom Loverro is allowed to appear on Washington Post Live despite working for the Washington Times, I'm not going to feel guilty about using what appears to be a Washington Times exclusive in a Washington Post blog:

Hall of Famer Cal Ripken canceled an appearance on Don Imus' radio and television program scheduled for later this week because of comments the talk show host made about Rutgers' women's basketball team....

"In light of recent remarks made on the program, Cal will not appear on the show as part of his national book tour," [publicist John] Maroon said.

I guess someone should call Mary Chapin Carpenter, who's supposed to appear on Imus tomorrow, and see if she's following Cal.
