Caron Butler: Definitely Out

I posted this earlier, but I guess it got eaten by the system or something. Point is, I swear, this storyline will not go away. Here's Eddie Jordan, following the removal of the Butler cast:

"Um, well, Caron won't play in the first round. Whether it's four games or seven games we don't look for him to play in this first round, and after about 15 days or so we'll evaluate his hand."

Pretty basic. That's a no.

Here's Caron Butler, following the removal of his cast, on whether he had any reason to dispute Eddie's assessment:

"I wish. We'll see what happens. Overall it feels good, but you just don't want to risk the chance of getting a hit and rebreaking it and being pushed back another two weeks....They're brainstorming, throwing out a lot of ideas. We're not ruling anything out, but for right now it still looks like it's going to be 7-10 days."

Also pretty definite. Here's Caron Butler, when asked if this has all sunk in yet:

"It hasn't sunk in yet. Like I said, I'm hardheaded. I still don't rule anything out. I know what the doctors tell me and everything, but I haven't ruled anything out."

It'll be the first week of June, and we'll all still be speculating on whether Caron would be available if the Wiz were to make it to Game 7 of the Finals.
