Brandon Lloyd: Yeah and Nay

B. Lloyd sat out the preseason game with shin splints, which surely was the reason the offense malfunctioned over the weekend. But I'm noticing a strange disconnect on this B.Lloyd issue: some like him a lot, and some don't.

Yeah: Post USA Magazine:

For some reason, the most annoying players in the NFL seem to be a small percentage of wide receivers. Not to mention any names, like TO or Randy Moss, who spend more time whining than winning. Well, allow us to introduce you to the antithesis of those spoiled, pampered pains in the you-know-what. His name is Brandon Lloyd, and the only thing he complains about is there aren't enough hours in the day for this ultra cool and talented Renaissance Man with multiple interests to get things done.

Nay: David Elfin, The Washington Times :

The Redskins should send a message now: cut Brandon Lloyd. The malcontent receiver has been as big a bust as now-departed safety Adam Archuleta was and on top of that, he threw his helmet during a game last year. Lloyd admitted that this offseason was the first one during which he ever really worked out, and the result has been that he has missed half of training camp with shin splints....Cut Brandon Lloyd now.

And then who am I supposed to write about, Todd Wade?

Yeah: Brandon Lloyd, in his Training Camp Journal

People always ask me if I have any predictions and/or goals for this season. I never make any predictions other than that I know for a fact that I will give 100 percent every time I hit the field. As far as goals, I haven't set any goals for the regular season (yet).

As far as Pro Bowls, awards and accolades, I work more on a smaller scale. I set goals for the task at hand. Right now, being in camp, I want to develop a relationship with Jason Campbell and Coach Al Saunders that will allow me to have more looks on the ball this season.

Looks on the ball thus far: zero.

Nay: Jason LaCanfora in Redskins Insider

If you haven't noticed, he now refers to Lloyd only as "the wide receiver," like this:

"The wide reciever is out again with shin splints."

Wishing for the day when LaCa refers to me solely as "the blogger." Or maybe "the bloggre."

Steinz, would "the bloggre" be pronounced with a pseudo-French accent, a la Inspector Jacques Clouseau, or like "ogre" with a "bl" in front?

I like the former, although the latter has some promise.

I wish "the wide receiver", aka "statistically the worst starting WR in the history of the NFL", would just take his Renaissance man and multiple interests and go away.

LaCanfora going the Parcells route.

Looks like somebody is a cell for the Jerry Jones brigade...

To Wide Receiver:

We had such high hopes
But you've proven no worth.
Go puff a Cuban!

To The Blogger/Bloggre:

Your angles are clear
your mission is evident
Go forth, wayward son!
