Gilbert: More Than 300 Pairs of Shoes

A long conversation with ESPN's Chris Broussard, and that's really the only thing that caught my eye. Also, I suppose, he appears to be brimming with confidence.

"Yeah, at the end of the day, when we were going into the playoffs, there were a lot of teams that -- I'd say 95 percent of the teams out there -- didn't want to play us seven games,'' Arenas said. "You don't want to play us seven games, because we score so fast and so easy that it's hard to beat us in seven games.''

Let's see, there are 29 non-Wiz teams in the NBA. 95 percent of that would be 27.5. So we'll round down, being generous, and say Gilbert believes 27 of the 29 teams were scared of having to face BTH/Etan in the playoffs last spring. Well. Ok. Anyhow, Gil's back in NYC this week doing promotional stuff for EA, which might land him on network talk shows. We'll see.

Speaking of the Wiz, sources close to the Verizon Center tell me that some of Oleksiy Pecherov's mail has showed up at the Caps' offices. Figure anyone named Oleksiy is more likely to be on ice, I guess.

Also speaking of the Wiz, another video of locker room antics worth watching, courtesy of Elie Elie.
