Preseason Basketball Conference Predictions

In an effort to help our Local Basketball Atlantic 11 poll voters prepare for the upcoming preseason poll, let's take a quick look at where all of our local teams have been picked in the preseason conference predictions. Because if you're not reading about Big South Media Day here, then really, where are you reading about it?

Last call for voting volunteers; write here if interested.

Big South: VMI picked 3rd, Liberty 6th and Radford 8th. VMI, which led the country in four statistical categories last year, has not been this high in a preseason poll in more than 30 years.

CAA: George Mason picked 1st, VCU 2nd, Old Dominion 3rd, James Madison 7th, William & Mary 9th and Towson 12th. Here's Maynor beating Duke last year.

MEAC: Hampton picked 1st, Morgan State 4th, Coppin State 8th, Norfolk State 9th, Howard 10th, Md.-Eastern Shore 11th. Former first-team All-Met Darryl Prue (Dunbar) has joined Morgan State's staff, and Norfolk State will be holding its Midnight Madness tomorrow night, which is odd. The event is sponsored by G-Unit records. Really.

Patriot League: American 5th, Navy 7th. And so last year's great debate will be rejoined. American's non-conference schedule includes seven games against Local teams.

Nothing yet from the ACC, Big East, A-10, Northeast, MAAC, America East or Longwood conferences.
