Gilbert's Workout Video

Brendan Haywood, still smiling as always, has grown philosophical about Gilbert's knee.

"It's not about the strength of your knee," he said today. "It's about the strength of your mind."

Deep.

Gilbert visited practice today in street clothes, was subject to a DeShawn Stevenson-prompted discussion about who shoots the ball more between Gil and Steve Francis, delivered some sunglasses to Nick Young (more on that later), imitated Caron Butler forcing his shot ("hey, I'm figuring out how to play with you," Caron said) and then disappeared. Luckily, Comcast SportsyNet has provided us our daily Gil content with this video from Gil's summer workout routine.

"I didn't want to be around my teammates because I didn't want to bring my negative energy around them."

Fair enough. And we all love Gilbert. But let's remember how this injury occurred. He was pissed at Eddie for saying he had to play defense too, and he arrived late for the game and missed warmup.

Hmmm. There's a lesson in there somewhere.
