The Caps: Things Are Looking Up

I've pledged not to write about the Caps until things start looking up. Luckily, today is that day!!!! Here's the beginning of today's Caps media release:
After beginning the season 3-0 and enduring a challenging stretch of games in recent weeks, Washington's 6-13-1 record is not what it intended to be at the start of the year. But things are looking up for the Capitals, who cannot be counted out yet.
I love the optimism. I love the willful tunnel vision. I love the coy strategy. When all tangible evidence suggests that things, are not in fact, looking up, you can reverse such negativity with a simple plan: rank denial. And thus, here are other entities and people for whom things are indubitably looking up:
* Norv Turner
* The Chinese toothpaste industry
* The Bush legacy
* Priest Holmes's neck
* Daily newspaper circulation
* Brandon Lloyd
* The American turkey population
