Mark This Down
As of this writing, the University of Maryland has a worse RPI than Coppin State. Coppin State is 1-10 (against D-I opponents). That, friends, is not good. The Terps' RPI is also worse than Morgan State, worse than Mount St. Mary's and about 100 spots worse than UMBC.
I was gonna cancel the Atlantic 11 Poll this week due to looming holiday concerns, but now it is so on. No. 6 James Madison cccccoughs up a 19-point lead at Seton Hall, losing the last nine points of its lead in the final 1:15 of regulation? No. 1 Gheorghetown finally loses in what the Wash Times dubs the Riverside Rout? No. 8 UMBC dresses only nine guys but still takes down No. 10 Hampton? Local No. 5 Old Dominion erases most of a 15-point deficit but still loses at Winthrop? And No. 7 Maryland does, well, something (a hideous beast of a game?) against the plucky, long-off-the-radar American Eagles, who will forever hold a place in my heart because I was watching them at Bender a few hours before my daughter was born?
Yeah, forget about the NFL and some lousy bowls; we have some things that need sorting out.
