Playoffs

Playoffs!

I was gonna run down all the scenarios and the percentages--how the Redskins now have a 23.2 percent chance of continuing their Super Bowl Run, how they even have a five percent chance of getting the fifth seed and thus possibly earning home-field advantage in the NFC Championship game, how things would really be peachy if NFL teams were only granted one timeout per half, how next week's trip to Minnesota now stands as by far the most important game of the season and possibly world history--but instead I just figured I'd say this:

Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs! Playoffs!

Playoffs!

Mohawk!

Yeah, that's right, these pictures of the Rock'Hawk, Rock Cartwright having debuted his mohawk last night. Why?

"Change," he explained after the game. "Change is good."

The Redskins didn't make the playoffs last year. They're on their way this year. That's change. That's good.

But we need a little consistency on this day of runaway optimism and booking our playoff flights to Seattle/Tampa, just in case. We need something solid and constant to tether ourselves to. We need something to link us to the week before, and the week before that, and every other week for the past four seasons. Hmmmm.

"It's a real, real tough place to come and play, extremely well coached, good football team they have....It seems that this group of guys, I don't care what happens, they just seem to say, 'We're going to keep trying and keep staying after it and keep fighting.' ....We have guys come out of the game today and they just keep fighting....I couldn't be prouder of our guys....You can tell by the conditions it was extremely tough....I've got to tell you I couldn't be prouder of our football team....Last week we had a lot of respect for the Bears, that was hard fought....It's a tough place to come and play, I think it's one of the hardest places to come play and I was really proud of our guys to be able to get this....I just appreciate the way they keep fighting."

Yeah, that'll do.

those odds would have been shorter if Jason Campbell could have converted more than 25% of the 1st down opportunities in the 4th qtr. when he played..I'm thinking just four more..would have been enough
to have Dallas looking over their shoulders
