GW Colonials = Locksmiths

So, apparently, don't count out those Colonials just yet. That 49-20 win smelled like the AFC Championship game score domination. I mean, as Steven Goff astutely noted, GW had as many blocks and steals as St. Louis had points last night. I believe Hillary Clinton had as many steals as St. Louis had points last night. But seriously, that's some Locksmith-like defense, and this in the same week that the GW women beat Brown 98-22, on the strength of a 23-0 run that would have been enough to beat the St. Louis men.

For the record, here are the scoreless streaks endured by Rick Majerus's charges last night.

* Five minutes and 44 seconds (during which GW went on a 5-0 run).

* Two minutes and 44 seconds (during which GW went on a 6-0 run).

* Nine minutes and 44 seconds (during which GW went on a 12-0 run).

* Eight minutes and 16 seconds (during which GW went on an 11-0 run).

* Two minutes and 17 seconds (during which GW went on a 4-0 run).

* Two minutes and 56 seconds (during which GW went on a scintillating 2-0 game-ending run).

Just three of these spells, packaged rightly, could have given GW a halftime lead of about 25-0, which would have been even more enjoyable.

Of course, Rick Majerus has probably had plenty of halftime donuts in his career.
