Dan Burton vs. Brian McNamee

My goodness. (AP Photo)

The proper thing for a sports blogger to do today would be to watch the Congressional hearings and blog like mad, but I can't take it. I just can't. I'd sooner watch Whoopi's Valentine's Day Parties feature on ABC while being forced to ingest the blended remains of six Vermont Teddy Bears and three PajamaGrams coated in Vitamin B12. Luckily you can check out Svrluga, blogging his brains out from the Hill.

This is the part that finally made me turn the channel, at which point four of the next stations I went through also had the hearings on before I found Whoopi. This is an excerpt of a conversation between Rep. Dan Burton (Old Person-Ind.) and Brian McNamee.

Burton (after grilling McNamee): Gee whiz, are you kidding me?

McNamee: No sir.

Burton: My goodness....There's several things here that really bother me....Are you lying about anything else? I mean, why don't you tell us?... So you just lie when it's convenient for you?

McNamee: No sir.

Burton: What's that? Can you pull the microphone a little bit closer please?

Yeah. This is the business our government is conducting today, live, on five out of every eight stations. Excuse me for instead attempting to find more Jim Fassel interviews.
