D-Steve's Birthday Party: Biz Markie

So I guess there was some sort of big sporting event in D.C. last night. I hear it went over pretty well.

But this wouldn't be the D.C. Sports Bog if the first story of the day didn't involve a three-day old press release heralding DeShawn Stevenson's upcoming birthday party. Here's the scoop:

Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson will celebrate his 27th birthday with an 80's themed bash on Wednesday, April 2 nd at Collaborations Clubs located on the third floor of the Verizon Center. The private event will be hosted by Collaborations and will feature world famous DJ Biz Markie and radio personality Big Tigger.

Invited celebrities include Stevenson's Washington Wizards teammates, Redskins players Clinton Portis and Jason Campbell, Arizona Cardinals All-Pro Darnell Docket and NFL player Byron Leftwich.

Biz Markie, huh? Can't wait to hear what LeBron will have to say about that. And the Biz, it should be pointed out, is apparently now the house DJ for Wizards birthday parties. Remember not one month ago, dude played at Caron Butler's birthday party. Is it any coincidence that Freddy Adu showed up at a Wiz game with a young lady and we were told "just a friend," and that Gilbert Arenas was spotted around town with Mya this year and we were told "just a friend." Please listen to the message that I say: don't ever talk to a girl who says she just has a friend.

Anyhow, we'll soon have run through three-fifths of the Wiz's theoretical starting lineup in celeb-filled birthday bashes, with decreasing buzz each time (Gilbert brings Diddy and ice sculptures, Caron brings Carmen Electra and basketball birthday cakes, DeShawn brings Clinton Portis for an 80s-themed party). But if Portis and D-Steve do some of that '80s dancing we've been promised, all will be good in the world.
